Vancouver Urban Winery (Sept 2022)

We had the fortune of taking some time off over Labor day weekend in 2022, so we decided to hit up my home town of Vancouver, B.C. It's been a long time since I've had any B.C. wines, and I was curious to see how the wine scene has developed.

The Vancouver Urban Winery is a small batch winery. In addition to producing their wines, they showcase the best of B.C. wines, providing tastings of both wine and also beer. It is also attached to the delicious Belgard Kitchen. The industrial style warehouse is very open, and inviting, surrounded by barrels and an open kitchen.

We substituted for an entire red flight.

Da Silva Vinho Tinto 2017 - Penticton

Corcelettes Estate Winery Merlot 2019 - Keremeos

Bordertown Cabernet Franc 2018 - Osoyoos

Covert Farms Syrah/Zinfandel 2017 - Oliver

Fairview Red Racer Merlot/Malbec 2019 - Oliver

B.C. wine has come a long way. The wines were definitely lighter, fresher, and more vibrant with bright fruit and balanced acidity. We particularly enjoyed the Corcelletes 2019 Merlot.

I would definitely return to sample the interesting wines B.C. has to offer.
