Our Red Mountain adventure led us to Hightower. The name has been dropped several times by some industry members, and I can see why - absolutely solid stuff, particularly loved their 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon which had small amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot, at a good price point.

2022 Murray Rose Syrah 75% Grenache 25%. Strawberry, melon nose. Racy citrus up front, resolving to firm stone fruit and a clean finish. $22. Score 92. 2020 Red Willow Cabernet Franc
Plum and dark cherries, dry and soft on the palate, with firm tannins. Finishing with peppery notes. $36. Score 91.
2020 Merlot
Merlot 92%, Malbec 8%. A firm and well balanced merlot, with dark black and red cherries. Slight savory notes. Great price point for the quality. $38. Score 92.
2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
Cab 86% PV 7% Malbec 7%. Pleasant nose with strong notes of tobacco and cocoa. Fruit forward, juicy blackberries, currants, mineral with soft tannins. Finish is soft with notes of herb and cocoa. $45. Score 92.
2018 Red Mountain Reserve Cab 88% Cab Franc 12%. Deep and dark, with juicy black fruit, velvety on the palate. Complimented with chocolate, tobacco, balanced with firm tannins. $60. Score 95.
