I returned quickly to Cascade Cliffs, hoping to catch a taste of their Italian styled wines. I was totally blown away by their 2021 Nebbiolo, which is definitely screaming right now. For a bolder "Super Tuscan", their 2021 Paisan is one of the bolder wines I've tasted at Cascade. These would make an awesome back to back performance for an Italian evening. Focused, strawberry compote, bing cherries, sandalwood, leather with firm drying tannins. Smooth on the palate up front and lingering finish. Amazing sipping wine or appetizer wine. $55. Score 95.
Cab sauv, sangio, merlot. Heavy Leather, dark cherries, blackberries, black pepper, with rounded acidity, sturdy tannins. Very food friendly. $55. Score 93.
